a lesson in metaphor

Published September 19, 2012 by April Fox

i seriously don’t know where the fuck this came from, except that i’ve been reading way too much political and religious (is that redundant?) garbage lately. anyway, yeah. here’s your daily lesson in metaphor. some might argue hyperbole as well, but i’d disagree.

a lesson in metaphor

hey,
little child
barefoot and naked-assed
on your knees in the confessional

give me your sins.

you are impaled
on your own mighty cross
bleeding rhetoric and fear, puking hate and
ignorance
onto the masses
waiting, open-mouthed
to drink it up
to bathe in the stench of it
to smear it on their faces
war paint
in the battle
for salvation

hey,
little child
it’s just a metaphor.

zip it up.
